In the new firmware your editing make sure you remove the // on this line., I thought that I would add my experience also. My SKR Mini E3 v3.0 was working and then suddenly OctoPi couldn't detect it. I tried a variety of different ways to get it to reconnect, but in the end it turned out that the USB port on the SKR had died. I replaced the board and everything worked again.
