The espada is a direct upgrade, but you can't get it till after the 2nd to last boss., Bleed is bad for PvE. Some good ones (for PvP) are: Powerstanced Claws, Ashen Warrior Sword (you get it pretty damn late), Falchion, Ivory King UGS (very late but does a shit ton of bleed).
