At 5+6 weeks ultrasound we only saw one baby. At 8+1 weeks ultrasound it was clearly two babies :), As pp have said, you can't go by hcg levels to determine multiples. Mine was only 39 at 4 weeks, but sure enough I'm expecting twins. We get quite a few ladies curious about their hcg levels and what they might mean here, but to be honest I'm yet to see one of them come back after a scan and say it's twins or more.
