If you do have an original unpatched Switch, you're in luck! Since this is a hardware exploit (tied to the specific chip used in the console), Nintendo can't patch it., Unpatched switch is a great pick imo, esp if you are into handhelds and stuff. With cfw you have so many options like android/linux/lakka, overclocking, homebrews, ports etc. As for emulation, everything up to psp/3ds works really well. That means amazing dreamcast, ps1, n64, psp performance, good 3ds, gc in lakka as well as the rest oldshool ..., I have an unpatched Switch (XAW1006***) on firmware 10.2.0. As I understand it, Atmostphere 1.1.1 works with the newest firmware 13.0.0. Meaning I can do an official update from Nintendo then do Atmosphere.
