Ruger security 9 problems

Today was the first time I got a chance to shoot the Security 9 after the three upgrades. Those were a Senechal trigger, Hogue grip sleeve and stainless steel guide rod with factory weight 17 lb spring. My impressions after firing 75 rounds today: The trigger is much better.

Dec 22, 2017 · Problems with the Security 9. Oh what a disappointment. And I like it so much. But it's an illusion. It's not a gun to like any more. The very first time at the range, the trigger froze up, locked up, tight after only 17 rounds of Fiocchi. Sent it in to Ruger and got it back a week later with a new trigger, springs, etc.

It doesn't always grab the casing to eject and causes a jam. I'm coming close to having put 1,000 rounds through the gun and here is the problem: It ONLY likes Federal ammo! Probably put about 900 rounds thru it so far. Last time I was at the range everytime I inserted a full mag the slide went forward and the gun went into battery.The Ruger Security-9 weighs in at 23.7 ounces when empty. This is a generally-acceptable for concealed carry. However, loaded it weighs close to 27 ounces, which is quite a bit heavier and some may feel it.
