Spirit box phasmophobia questions

After updating my game, the spirit box no longer recognizes my questions as it could prior to the update, meaning the "X" no longer appears and ghosts cannot respond. I have changed many settings both in and out of game, normal voice recognition works fine, and I do not alt-tab out of the game at any point.
